The track you have ideally just listened to was produced by Bushido, a member of the Astral Black family of beat-makers. Astral Black are based in Glasgow; however the label is made up of artists from all over the UK.

‘Palm Trees’ was taken from his debut four-track EP Grandmaster Cash, which will be his first release via Astral Black. The music is both funky and tropical; it will make you want to get your maracas out and use them to compliment that skank you do when you hear it.

“I’ve always been a fan of UK funky and wanted to put my own dancehall twist into the mixer” Bushido tells Fact Magazine.

The EP comes out on the 8th of April and to celebrate its release; Astral Black came together with Radar Radio to host a launch a party for Grandmaster Cash in Peckham on March 31st. We were inside Rye Wax on the night, to soak in the music, the atmosphere and get a feel of what to expect from the EP prior to its release. As well Bushido; Big Zuu, AJ Tracey and friends, DJ Sage Pay, Jossy Mitsu and F17 were also on the line up.

A second event will be taking place in Glasgow the 15th April, so when you listen to the EP on the 8th and you fancy the live experience… all roads lead to Glasgow!
